Although the path less chosen
Is the path traveled by few,
It still can only mean
That even that path is not new;
Who was the first, I wonder,
To follow this road through?
And then, who was the first
To choose the other, too?
Were the founders of the paths acquainted?
Together, through and through?
Only to become diverged,
In this wood, because of views?
Or did it start with one, just one,
That forged a path anew?
The path that was only chosen
For it was the only path to choose
Until another faced this solo path, in a lonely wood,
And stood precisely where the first path founder once had stood,
And stretched their neck to see as far as one could ever look,
To turn away with no regrets
As the first path founder would.
